Dr. Diana Heard, Owner & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Diana D. Heard is the Owner and Chief Medical Officer of Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology, where she leads all clinical operations and sets the standard of care that the practice is built upon. Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Heard brings over two decades of experience, clinical excellence, and genuine compassion to every patient she serves.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Heard earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in 2002 and completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Hurley Medical Center, a division of Michigan State University, in Flint, Michigan, in 2006. Her training instilled in her a deep commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care — values she brings to every appointment, every delivery, and every difficult conversation.
In 2013, Dr. Heard joined Glendale OBGYN and immediately found her home. In 2017, she took ownership of the practice — beginning a new chapter built entirely on her own vision for what women’s healthcare should look and feel like. Her clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of obstetric and gynecologic care, including prenatal care and high-risk pregnancy management, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, endometrial ablation, IUD and contraceptive management, menstrual disorders, menopause care, and preventative women’s health screenings.
Among Dr. Heard’s most deeply held convictions is her unwavering respect for patient autonomy. She is a strong believer that every woman has the right to make informed
decisions about her own body — without judgment, without barriers, and without having to justify those decisions to anyone. Dr. Heard proudly performs sterilization procedures, including bilateral tubal ligation, for any patient who has made that choice for herself. Just respectful, compassionate care that honors each patient’s right to decide what is right for her own life.
Dr. Heard believes that the relationship between a patient and her physician is one of the most sacred in a woman’s life. She works hard to earn that trust through listening,
through honesty, and through showing up fully for her patients at every stage of their journey, from their first gynecologic visit through pregnancy, menopause, and beyond.
Outside of the office, Dr. Heard treasures time with her family, stays active, experiments in the kitchen, and feeds her love of travel and reading whenever she can. She warmly welcomes both new and returning patients to Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology and looks forward to being a trusted part of your care.
Daniel Perez , MBA. Chief Executive Officer
Daniel Perez serves as Chief Executive Officer of Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology, where he oversees all business operations, strategic growth, and the patient experience that defines the practice’s culture. Working alongside Dr. Heard, who leads all clinical operations as Chief Medical Officer, Daniel brings a passionate, patient-centered approach to everything from practice infrastructure to the way women feel the moment they walk through the door.
Daniel holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree — both earned with honors. His academic background reflects a lifelong commitment to understanding complex systems and finding practical, human-centered solutions within them. That same mindset drives his work at Glendale OBGYN every single day.
For Daniel, healthcare is deeply personal. He believes that every patient who walks through these doors deserves not only exceptional clinical care, but a practice that respects their time, genuinely listens to their concerns, and treats them as a whole person — not a chart number. His focus is on building the systems, the team, and the culture that make that standard feel effortless for every patient, every visit.
One of Daniel’s deepest commitments is preserving what has become increasingly rare in modern healthcare: a truly independent, physician-led practice. At a time when private equity continues to acquire and consolidate medical practices across the country, Daniel is intentional about protecting Glendale OBGYN’s independence — because he believes that independence is what allows providers to do their best work. When a practice is not beholden to corporate quotas or investor timelines, providers can spend the time each patient actually deserves. That is not a luxury here. It is the standard.
Under his leadership, Glendale OBGYN has expanded its services to meet women where they are — from comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to wellness services
through Bloom & Glow Med Spa. Daniel’s vision is simple: a practice that women in the Glendale community trust completely, return to throughout every chapter of their lives, and recommend to the people they love most.
When he is not building a better patient experience, you will likely find Daniel exploring a new country with his husband, or on a beach somewhere working his way through the Hunger Games trilogy — for what is definitely not the first time.

Nicola Torres, Board Cerified Women's Health Nurse Practitoner
Nikki is a Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology whose path to women’s health was shaped by a genuine belief that every patient deserves more than a rushed appointment — she deserves a provider who takes the time to truly understand her. That commitment to unhurried, personalized care is the thread that runs through everything Nikki does.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. After gaining meaningful experience in private practice, Nikki brought her passion for women’s health to Glendale OBGYN, where her depth of knowledge and approachable nature have made her a trusted presence for patients navigating some of the most significant moments of their health journey.
Nikki’s clinical focus centers on preventive care across every stage of a woman’s life. She has extensive experience in menopause evaluations and treatment, postpartum depression support, hormone deficiency management, and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) — helping women restore balance and reconnect with how they want to feel. Health education is central to her practice; she believes an informed patient is an empowered one, and she works carefully to ensure every woman she sees understands her options and feels confident in her choices.
What sets Nikki apart is her ability to meet patients exactly where they are — whether that is navigating a new diagnosis, managing a long-standing hormonal concern, or simply looking for a provider who will listen without judgment. Her warmth and clinical precision make for a combination that patients consistently rely on and return to.
Outside of the office, Nikki’s adventurous spirit takes her across the globe — with a particular love for the Caribbean, where the warmth, the culture, and the water have a way of calling her back time and again. She returns to her patients with the kind of openness and curiosity that only a life of exploration can offer.
Shannyn Werra, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
Shannyn Werra is a Certified Nurse Midwife at Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology, bringing over a decade of obstetric experience and a deeply personal approach to women’s healthcare. Known for her warmth, her patience, and her genuine commitment to making every patient feel truly seen and heard, Shannyn is the kind of provider patients remember long after they leave the office.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Shannyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alverno College before going on to receive her Midwifery degree from Frontier Nursing University — one of the nation’s most respected midwifery programs. In 2018 she traded Wisconsin winters for the Arizona desert, where she now happily calls home alongside her husband, three children, and their dogs.
Shannyn’s philosophy of care is rooted in one simple but powerful belief: that every woman deserves to feel confident and informed when making decisions about her own health. She takes the time to truly listen, to explain, and to empower — ensuring that no patient ever leaves an appointment feeling rushed, dismissed, or uncertain about her care. For Shannyn, midwifery is not just a profession. It is a calling.
Her clinical interests span the full scope of midwifery practice, including prenatal care, labor and delivery support, postpartum care, gynecologic wellness, contraceptive counseling, and patient education. She is particularly passionate about supporting women through the full continuum of their reproductive health journey with compassion, expertise, and an open door.
When she is not caring for patients, you will find Shannyn exploring new recipes in the kitchen, camping off the grid, racing around on her razor, or floating down the Salt River — living the full Arizona experience with the same energy she brings to everything she does.
Office Management
Lisa Perez, Office Manager
Lisa Perez is the Office Manager of Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology and one of the most important reasons this practice runs as beautifully as it does. A born and raised Arizonan with over two decades of healthcare experience and more than ten years in private practice management specifically, Lisa brings a depth of knowledge and a steadiness to this office that the entire team relies on every single day.
Lisa joined Glendale OBGYN two years ago and has been a cornerstone of the practice ever since. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the office, manages medical billing, and works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that everything patients experience on the front end — the smooth check-ins, the organized appointments, the answers when they need them — is the direct result of her attention, her experience, and her genuine care for the people who walk through these doors.
What makes Lisa’s role here especially meaningful is that Glendale OBGYN is truly a family endeavor. Lisa is the mother of our CEO, Daniel Perez — and together they share not just a last name but a common vision for what an independent, patient-first practice should look like. There is something rare and deeply intentional about a mother and son choosing to build something like this together, and patients feel that family energy the moment they interact with her.
Lisa leads with the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from decades of experience — she has seen it all, handled it all, and somehow still makes every interaction feel personal and unhurried. Her institutional knowledge of private practice healthcare is an asset that cannot be overstated, and her commitment to doing things the right way sets a standard the entire office lives up to.
Outside of the office, Lisa is a proud mother of two and a devoted dog mom to Snoopy — who, by all accounts, is living his absolute best life. When she is not managing the organized chaos of a busy women’s health practice, you will find her deep into her latest Korean drama, fully invested and absolutely not to be disturbed until the episode is over.
Genesis Quiroz, Office Supervisor
Genesis Quiroz is the Office Supervisor at Glendale Obstetrics & Gynecology and the person who keeps the heartbeat of this practice steady every single day. A proud Arizona native, Genesis joined the Glendale OBGYN family in September 2025 and quickly became an indispensable part of the team — the kind of person patients are genuinely glad to see when they walk through the door.
In her role, Genesis oversees the day-to-day operations of the practice with a focus on one thing above all else — making sure every patient has an exceptional experience from the first phone call to the final checkout. She is the connector between our clinical team and our patients, ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks and that every visit feels seamless, organized, and warm.
Genesis also serves as our Bloom & Glow Med Spa specialist, guiding patients through our aesthetic and wellness service offerings with the same care and attentiveness she brings to everything she does. Whether you are curious about a treatment for the first time or ready to book, Genesis is your person — knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping you feel your best.
What makes Genesis truly special is the energy she brings into this practice every day. She leads with kindness, moves with purpose, and has a natural gift for making people feel at ease — qualities that set the tone for the entire patient experience at Glendale OBGYN.
Outside of the office, Genesis is a devoted mother to her daughter — her biggest inspiration and her favorite person. When she is off the clock you will find her at a seafood boil, cracking into something delicious with zero apologies, or hunting for hidden gems at Marshalls with the focused energy of someone who absolutely knows what she is looking for. We have learned not to get between her and a good find.
